Raw Recipes

Here is a listing of all my Raw Recipes to date.  You can make these dishes all or mostly raw.  For example, if a recipe calls for cocoa powder, you can use raw cacao powder (for true raw) or the roasted kind you find on the baking isle in most stores, making the dish mostly raw.  Raw food lends higher nutritive value than cooked food because heat destroys some vitamins and enzymes in cooked food.  This page is meant to be a resource for everyone- from those who may want to try out a raw dish or dessert for the first time to those who eat raw most of the time.

A note on raw sweeteners: There are many sweeteners that claim "raw", when in fact they would not fit the technical definition.  Some agave brands, for example, are labeled "Raw Agave Nectar".  However, the sap from the agave cactus has to be hydrolyzed, usually involving heat above 140 degrees F, in order to taste sweet (there are no FDA regulations for the label of "raw").  I would only recommend this raw coconut nectar/ sugar crystal brand, dates, or raw honey as an added sweetener for true raw dishes.
